viewtopic.php?t=120

Here is a guide on how to connect to the servers using the emulator PCSX2: https://pcsx2.net/

So, once you had your gamepad setup, put your bios, etc. you will now need to tweak the following settings:
Spoiler
1. Go to Settings and select the "Network & HDD" option.
2. On Ethernet, check the box "Enabled" then switch the "Ethernet Device type" to "Sockets" and "Ethernet Device" to "Auto" (If its not set to that by default.)
3. On "DNS1 Address" and "DNS2 Address" switch to "Manual" and add the following address: 34.75.107.68
With that, you had enabled the necessary settings to be able to create your network profile, so before we continue :)

Optional:
If you want to have access to keyboard to type stuff, making it easier to log-in and even chat with the folks on town, you have two options:

a. If you don't mind removing your hotkeys globally:
Spoiler
1. Go to Settings, click on "Controllers".
2. Go to "USB Port 1" and switch the option from "Not Connected" to "HID Keyboard".
3. Go to Hotkeys and Remove ALL the hotkeys using right click (don't forget to scroll down and make sure all of them are actually gone).
4. Press Close.
b. If you want to keep them globally but only disable them for Monster Hunter Games
Spoiler
1. Go to Settings, click on "Controllers"
2. At the bottom of the window, click on the option "New Profile", it will prompt you to give it a name, then click "Okay" and "Yes" to keep your controller settings
3. Double check that you are on the custom Profile you had created by checking the name it shows up on "Editing Profile", if its the one with your custom name, you are doing great!
4. In "Profile Settings" click on "Use Per-Profile Hotkeys" to allow you to have custom Hotkeys.
5. Go to "USB Port 1" and switch the option from "Not Connected" to "HID Keyboard"
6. Go to Hotkeys and Remove ALL the hotkeys using right click (don't forget to scroll down and make sure all of them are actually gone).
7. Press Close and boot up the Monster Hunter you want to play online and want to have access to keyboard typing.
8. Go to Settings and click on "Game Properties".
9. On the Summary Tab, click on "input Profile" and switch from "Shared" to the profile you have made.
10. If you want to use this in your other MH games or any other game that you want to use the keyboard for,
you can just follow the same step 7, 8 and 9!!
So now, before we began creating the net-file, you want to click on "System" and select "Boot Bios", go to System Configuration and switch
the language to "English", back out from that screen to the main menu and then go to System again, click on "shut-down"
This is necessary if you want the net-file to be in English, so you know what settings you need to change!!

Now, IT IS TIME TO BOOT INTO MONSTER HUNTER 1J, G or 2 DOS:

Depending of the game you need to following different instructions to enter the "net-file" screen, so open the one you are interested with!!
All of this has been borrowed from luty's guide, due to the process being almost the same, with permission ofc >:3

for emulator players that had followed this guide!!

2.On the Save Location screen, select your preferred Memory Card to save the configuration to.
3.You are now editing your network settings. Press right to continue.

5. You will be met with a box telling you that you are now editing ISP settings. Select "OK."
6. It is now asking if you need an ID and password to connect to the internet. Select "Not Required." Press right to continue.
7. It is now asking if you want to change your IP address. Select "Auto." Press right to continue.
8. It is now asking if you want to change the DNS. Select "Auto." Press right to continue.
9. If you want to, change the name of the ISP settings. Press right to continue.
10. Press the circle or cross button to save your settings.
11. It will ask you if you want to test the connection, if so, select "Yes," the leftmost option. If not, select the right option.
I12. f you are testing the connection, press either circle or cross to begin the test, and wait for a while until it finishes.
13. You will be returned to the main Network Settings menu. Press the cancel button in order to return to the game.

Congrats, you have now saved your connection to the MH Oldschool server!
And you have to only do this once to make all 3 games (Monster Hunter 1 Japanese ver, Monster Hunter G and Monster Hunter 2 Dos) work,
you can even load the same net-file in the other ps2 MH games and it should let you join just fine!!

Congratulations, if you had done everything you need, now play the game ONLINE :D.
Just select the connection that you created while you log in next time, create a username and password, and you're good to go!

Great work. Ping me in the discord if/when this guide becomes more complete, I'll review it, and either provide a link to this guide from The Great Guide:tm: or I'll just move this topic directly over to the guide subforum.

For the moment get the Nightly version for the mean time, It has better keyboard support and it should let you use Shift symbols!
But also, the games use this japanese loadout for all it's symbols, so if you are confuse what symbols goes to where, here is a reference:
