I hate sleep so much. I have so much trouble falling asleep at a decent time, and once I fall asleep I am hopeless and unable to be woken up until I've slept a decent amount. It's 5am right now and I don't feel tired at all...

These 3 things helped me a lot to fall asleep:
  1. Turning off all screens some time before going to bed.
  2. Melatonin pills.
  3. Reading a book before sleeping.

I used to take melatonin but it didn't help much. I've read recently that some vitamin D (?) can help your body process melatonin better so I might start taking both types of supplements, we'll see.

I could never fall asleep reading a book, I don't know how people do that

I don't fall asleep reading a book, but it helps making a transition between what I was doing before going to bed and sleeping. Otherwise I'd go to bed and start thinking about what I was doing before (usually programming) so my mind was very active and I couldn't sleep.
