As the title asks, do ya'll just stick to your first character or make a second one?
I'm currently working on a second one as a way to play with a friend who is planning to get Iceborne relatively soon and I didn't want to use my first character cause she's overly OP now hahaha

It's fun grinding for items and materials again with monsters that match your level.

i play on the same character but nerf my gear and play a new weapon, that way i'm always making incremental progress towards having builds for every weapon

I usually am on two, one male and one female to see all the armors. Usually I play the first one until I complete the game (on my own terms) and when I come back I restart with the other option

I started the game on my (former) roommate's PS4 and got up to Odogaron.

But then I had friends who wanted to play on Xbone, so I moved there and grinder all the way up to halfway through Iceborne.

And now my Xbone is dead so if I want to play again I'm going to have to start over on PC x_x

That said it's a good game and I enjoy it so it won't be too bad.

I do have 3 characters.

Main: This one was the entire Rise full game without armor, then playing normally for Sunbreak.
Hitless Rise: This one is my character with the Hitless WR, won't erase it for obvious reasons.
Hitless Sunbreak: This one is my character ready to do a Hitless Sunbreak, not sure when i will try to do it, but i'm planning to.

Edit: I just noticed this was WIB... LMAO

I had done multiple playthroughs of 4U and FU, I think got 120 hours on my gunlance save, 100 on a GS/LS one, 20 on bowgun and some on ls and dbs for FU

ive played through world a few times but cannot bring myself to play through iceborne again

I've played through World... too many times. Lol

I use separate files to do armorless runs.

I usually make 2 characters 1 male character 1 female character, first playthrough with the male character usually clear every quest the 2nd character is for when I get a friend to play that game so I start over with them. Now if the game is on multiple platforms like world and rise, I make only 1 character on the platforms I don't play on at much.

MH World is also another story as I have 2 characters for unmodded and 2 for playing with the ICE mod.
