Are dual blades a good weapon?

Hi. I been playing mhg for some time and I thought that using dual blades would be a good idea, even if they are recommended by the game for killing wyverns like Rathalos. Anyways I still don't feel them like better than other weapons, for example great swords. I know that it depends on my playstyle and how I use the weapons but I think I still can't make a good strategy. I have been struggling trying to cut a wyvern tail and when I make it I realize that I used too much time doing that. So can I have some tips? I really would like to finish mhg using dual blades only.

Dual Blades benefit heavily from elemental damage and go through sharpness very fast making them not great early on but hey at least you don't bounce when you do demon dance while in demon mode.

Thanks! Actually I'm trying to craft cutlass, also I was able to solo a Rathian (fasterer than using gs). Looks like I just was complaining too much only because I didn't know how to use the weapon properly and yes, demon mode It's pretty good although I still need to use it better.
