Yes I am doing the village content. I'm somewhere before unlocking Teostra. Trying to see what monsters I missed so I can unlock it. I recently did the trick of rust stones to get the magic number of 23.

Realistically, you wouldn't be able to craft those rust weps without doing that. Either doing 23 quests and/or crafting 23 rust stones in a row.... Capcom doing weird coding decisions sometimes. But not totally unexpected considering the charm table mishap they did for 3U. Lol.

Ya'll got me wanting to dip my toes into MHDos now even though I'm juggling MHG, MHTri and MH4U in my hands
I really am curious how Capcom did MHDos and got high expectations now from how much ya'll are loving it

Not sure how far in I am, but I've been playing through it on hunting horn and it has been super fun so far! Would recommend!

Playing it for the first time with the patchies and it's already become my favourite MH game! I'm a few hunts into volcano and just got my eager cleaver. Thinking about armour sets to farm :3

I need to play more of dos as I stopped whilst grinding for a better weapon to fight gypceros and plesioth with. but i really do like dos' village experience a lot. i think it'll give me enough to chew on while i wait for the online servers to come out

Finally unlocked Teostra. Had to kill Lao. Problem is, the dude with that quest wasn't showing up for the longest time. But yeah, I remember someone in discord saying you didn't need Lao, you definitely need Lao just as a heads up.

I want to start directly being able to play with people from 0 and "0 knowledge"

I didn't got into online yet, so, just village until now lol. I hope i get on volcano soon, need those firestones

I'm doing both alongside, but generally have been waiting to progress online first. Village is nice for mining and getting things like monster fluid, but I feel like rushing too much of the village in one go would take away from the gear progression side of playing online. If I already had village completely done with access to elders and late game gear, increasing HR would feel like a huge slog instead of something that naturally builds up while working on weapons and armour sets.
