To continue and summarize our discussion from Discord I want to archive my position here as well:
Allowing cheats, even in a specified area without some kind of obstacle for genuine players to join,
opens the door to involuntary participation in cheated activities (lets call it passive cheating from here on).
Yes, that might occur now as well, but we have strict rules as of now that avoids grey area scenarios. Examples of such and other issues include:
- Language barrier or missing knowledge may lead to passive cheating
- broken save files
- broken progression
- involuntary bans due to passive cheating
- extra work necessary for the general moderation of what is deemed okay and what not
- unjustified bans might occur
- extra work for the coding team and a necessary moderation of cheating
I'm therefore against allowing it.
What do you think about this topic?

Cheat-area discussion: Should cheating be allowed?
Re: Cheat-area discussion: Should cheating be allowed?
its one thing to ban little Johnny from brazil that doesnt speak english and is using full fatalis armor at hr1, its another thing to ban a person because he was sighted once wearing dev weapons (alone) or because he unlocked titles through cheats.
our community is small enough that moderators can completely reasonably ban and unban people at their own discretion, we dont need rules written in stone to thrive, at least not yet. so i think we should let people freely "cheat" as long as its not game breaking (by doing shit like one shotting monsters or using super endgame equipment at low rank). if you see a person wearing high rank kutku armor when theyre low rank, you can literally just... not... play with them. its that simple.
