Only very early models of PS3 have access to network play on a PS3 while playing PS2 games.

Think of it like a invisible bar that you are filling, each dish gives points to that bar with different dishes giving more points than others. You can tell what dish is a higher tier by what plate model they are giving you.

You have to play the Japanese version in order to play online.

MH1NA/EU did add some additional village quests and the dual blades on top of changing many other parts of the game. Is it superior no.
